How to Obtain Certification as an Assistive Technology Professional
An Assistive Technology Professional is a qualified specialist who develops, maintains, and customizes a range of assistive devices to alleviate the physical and psychological challenges and inconveniences experienced by persons with disabilities and older adults in their daily lives. All students who complete the regular curriculum of the Department of Occupational Therapy at Baekseok University are granted eligibility to sit for the Assistive Technology Professional certification examination.
Eligibility Requirements for the Assistive Technology Professional Examination
Applicants must have completed a minimum of 10 courses related to assistive technology at an institution that satisfies one of the criteria listed below. Among the required courses, at least 3 courses in foundational studies and at least 3 courses in applied and practical studies must be included.
- A. School defined under Article 2, Items 1 through 6 of theHigher Education Act
- B. An educational training institution that has received academic credit recognition for its coursework in accordance with Article 3, Paragraph 1 of the Act on Recognition of Credits, Etc.
