The Department of Occupational Therapy, College of Health Sciences at Baekseok University (President: Song Ki-shin) has been selected as an implementing institution for the Drug Abuse Prevention Education Support Program for University and International Students, jointly administered by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and the Korean Council for University Education. The university has officially commenced program activities.

On the 28th, a student supporters inauguration ceremony was held at the university's main administrative building, marking the first step toward fostering a prevention-centered campus culture. Approximately 180 attendees participated in the event, including the university president, faculty members from the College of Health Sciences, participating professors, student supporters, and current students.

The program is part of a nationwide initiative involving 40 universities across Korea, designed to deliver drug abuse prevention education to both domestic and international students and to promote awareness of safe and responsible medication use.

President Song Ki-shin remarked, "As societal concerns regarding drug-related issues continue to grow, the importance of prevention education is increasingly emphasized. Our university is committed to expanding a student-engaged prevention culture through various initiatives, including the 'NO EXIT' campaign."

Professor Yeom Hee-young, Head Professor of the Department of Occupational Therapy, noted that "this program will serve as an opportunity to extend occupational therapy expertise into the domains of prevention and community health promotion."

The newly formed student supporters group will carry out drug abuse prevention campaigns, peer education activities, and targeted outreach programs for international students both on and off campus. The group also plans to disseminate prevention messages through the production of card news and video content, sustaining student-centered, action-oriented initiatives.

Baekseok University remains committed to cultivating a healthy and safe campus environment through ongoing prevention education and participatory programming.
